
Biography
Joseph P. Hamon is a lawyer in a family law practice. He received his bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in 1988 from the University of St. Michael’s College (University of Toronto) after receiving his law degree (LL.B.) from the University of Ottawa and pursuing theological and philosophical studies at the University of St. Paul in Ottawa.
He worked as staff at Harvest Haven Farm in Woodlawn Ontario which was a crisis center for families of alcoholics. In 1991, he married Kristan Hamon, and opened his own law practice under the name of “Hamon Law Office” where he became the managing lawyer. He practices in both Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley through his Combermere office.
Together with his Collaborative Family Law certification, Joseph P. Hamon is also a certified comprehensive mediator (Family Mediation Canada) trained to deal with both personal family dynamics and legal/financial issues in family breakdown.In early 2004, Joseph closed his Ottawa office and began full time practice concentrating in family law in Combermere Ontario. He spends more time with his children and helps support his wife with the children’s homeschooling. Together with Kristan, they co-parent 9 wonderful children. He enjoys sports particularly golf.
He has a heart for the whole family. His professional motto is: "If separation occurs .... fair resolution". A senior experienced professional who can help cut to the heart of the matter. Yet one who is deferential and sensitive to the wishes of the separating couple.
They are thrilled to be members of Holy Canadian Martyrs Church in Combermere, where their faith is nurtured by the vibrant community life with many other fellow Christians in the valley.
Joseph is a board member at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Barry’s Bay. He has been a registered lobbyist to Parliament on various issues and has been an advisor to several organizations including Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy, Precious Blood and Life, Magnificat Ministries, Christian Legal Intervention Academy (Founding Member), Christian Legal Fellowship (Ottawa), Thomas More Lawyers’ Guild (Ottawa-Director), Home School Legal Defence Association (Canada), Action Life (Ottawa) and Campaign Life.

I meet with clients in Combermere and on-site throughout the Ottawa Valley, particularly in Pembroke and Ottawa. I have dealt with several clients via Skype and they have been happy with the process.
